"But my life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus - the work of telling others the good news about God's wonderful kindness and love."
Dear Friends,
"Let all that I am praise the Lord, may I
never forget the good things He does for me. He forgives all
my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death
and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life
with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle's."
Psalm 103:2 through 5
The year 2011 has been an extremely busy year for
us thus far. During this year we have experienced the Lord's
protection, healing and renewal of strength. In His mercy He
speaks and grants new vision and insight through His Word.
We had the privilege of going with a group of 45 to
Mexico in January to build a center for the blind. The reports
are that this building is being used every day and people from other
cities are traveling to San Luis to visit the Blind Center with the
hope of establishing such a ministry in other towns.
We will once again go to Mexico with a Medical Team
in October. Each clinic is in need of a Ministry Director and
I will serve at one of the clinics sharing the gospel with each
patient after they have received an examination and medication from
the medical team. Though they have great physical needs in
their bodies, only Christ can heal their souls and deliver them from
the power of sin.
Last year we taught a four day Marriage Retreat to
the Cuban pastors and their wives. At the close of the Retreat
we were able to bless each pastor and wife as their name was called
and they made their way to the front of the auditorium.
Because of your kindness and faithfulness in giving we were able to
give a pair of earrings to each wife and a gift of $10.00 to each
pastor for his family. These men and women have given their
all to serve God. Their salaries are less than $20.00 a month.
They struggle to feed their families and life is very difficult and
food is sparse.
In October we are scheduled to make our fourth trip
to Cuba. They have requested that we
teach a Marriage Retreat again in another area of Cuba.
Because they have little money, they need financial help with
transportation to attend the retreat and they have no money for food
unless we provide it. There are needy everywhere but God has
allowed us to bless the pastors in Cuba and the needy in Mexico.
We pray that God will bless their homes with abundance in a land
where there is famine.
We want to thank you for your prayers and for
blessing the ministry of Acts 20:24 with financial support. It
is because of your faithfulness and kindness that we continue in
ministry. If you would like to help us with this mission, your
tax deductible contributions can be made payable to Acts 20:24 and
mailed to James Leake, 114 Burke Dr., Monroeville, PA 15146.
"Oh the joys of those who are kind to the
poor. The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble."
